Orthodontics for Children
Our team at Saddle Creek Orthodontics will treat your children like our own by providing the best possible orthodontic care.
The American Association of Orthodontists, Dr. Kyle, and Dr. John all recommend that your child should get an orthodontic evaluation by the age of seven or at the first sign of problems.
Your child's teeth have developed enough by this age to allow us to spot subtle problems with emerging teeth and jaw growth before losing all their baby teeth.
Your check-up at SCO may reveal that your child's bite is fine, and braces for kids aren't necessary now.
Or, Dr. Kyle and Dr. John may identify a developing problem but recommend monitoring your child's growth for now. After that, we can begin treatment at the appropriate time if we still think it’s appropriate for your child.
In some cases, SCO can get results that may not be possible once your child’s face and jaws have finished growing.
Early treatment at our offices in Germantown or Collierville may prevent or intercept more serious problems from developing and may make it easier and shorter if we treat them at a later age.
Orthodontics for Teens
The most common time for orthodontic treatment around Germantown and Collierville happens during adolescence, between the ages of 11-16.
Experienced orthodontists like Dr. Kyle and Dr. John easily recognize issues with spacing, crowding, bite, and alignment in this age range. Also, your teen’s bone and jaw structure are formed enough to allow orthodontic treatment to begin.
If you have a teen who recently learned braces can improve their smile, you’re likely to have lots of questions. Maybe you're feeling nervous or worried when you think about beginning the process. There’s no need to fret!
Leave bulky and uncomfortable metal braces in the 90's. Today’s braces are smaller, sleeker, and way more comfortable. You'll also find them in a variety of styles, materials, and even colors.
At Saddle Creek Orthodontics, your teen can choose between clear aligners, metal braces, or clear ceramic braces. Each of these choices offers unique benefits while transforming your teen’s smile.
One of the biggest questions on your teen’s mind before getting braces is probably, “How long will I have to wear these?”
While we can't give you a one-size-fits-all answer to that, we can estimate the amount of time based on a few key factors.
Early Treatment
Early treatment lets us watch jaw growth and recommend further treatment as needed, so we often catch problems at the beginning. This can considerably cut down on the total time needed in braces.
What Areas Need Correction
The amount of treatment that’s needed to correct a problem will determine how long the process itself takes. It’s important to remember that different people react to treatment in different ways.
What takes one patient only 12 months may take another SCO patient 24 or 36 months. Treatment times also depend on how fast your teen's body responds and how much work it takes to create their very best smile.
Your Teen’s Cooperation
Your teen’s willingness to “play by the rules” plays a huge role in the length of time it takes to complete treatment.
How can your teen can keep their treatment time to a minimum? It's simple! Stick to our recommendations, caring for their braces, and maintaining healthy dental hygiene.
Orthodontics for Adults
Your smile is the first thing other people around Memphis will notice about you. Do you love yours?
You’re never too old to enjoy orthodontic treatment with Dr. Kyle and Dr. John, and that’s why we offer orthodontics for adults at Saddle Creek Orthodontics.
Believe it or not, your teeth don’t stop moving after your teen years. Teeth that seemed straight and aligned in youth could have shifted later in life. This can lead to jaw pain, trouble brushing, or a smile you’re unhappy with.
You may end up with other dental problems like tooth decay and gum disease if you don't treat your misaligned teeth. You may also notice abnormal wear on the surface of your teeth or find it harder to chew.
Dr. Kyle and Dr. John use orthodontic treatment to address these issues (and more!), while giving you the healthy smile you’ve always dreamed about.
We can correct orthodontic problems at SCO as easily for adults as for children. We use orthodontic forces to move teeth in the same way for both adults and children, and you’ll notice the benefits of your treatment in no time.
