What Are Clarity Aligners?

Clarity Aligners are a removable orthodontic treatment from Solventum, a company with a long history in materials science and orthodontics. Instead of brackets and wires, treatment uses a customized series of nearly invisible trays that fit closely over your teeth.

The Clarity Aligners system gives your orthodontist considerable control over treatment planning. It includes two materials, known as Flex and Force, with different properties that can be incorporated into a treatment plan depending on the movements your teeth need.

The result is orthodontic treatment that can be discreet and convenient without taking the orthodontist out of the equation.

For patients, the experience is much simpler than the technology behind it. You wear your Clarity Aligners as directed, remove them when eating and cleaning your teeth, and move through your prescribed sets as your smile progresses.

Why We Made Clarity Aligners Our Primary Aligner

There are several good aligner systems available today. At Saddle Creek Orthodontics, we chose to make Clarity Aligners our primary option because they give Dr. Kyle and Dr. John the flexibility to build treatment around your unique smile rather than forcing every smile into the same approach.

One important advantage is the system’s two-material design. Clarity Aligners Flex and Force have different levels of flexibility, giving your orthodontist more options when planning particular types of tooth movement. That can be valuable because orthodontic treatment is rarely as simple as making crooked teeth look straight. We also have to think about your bite, spacing, tooth position, and how all those pieces should work together.

Clarity Aligners also fit naturally into the digital treatment planning we use at Saddle Creek Orthodontics. We can study your smile digitally, develop a detailed plan, and make adjustments based on what your individual case requires.

In other words, we didn’t choose Clarity Aligners simply because they’re clear. We chose them because they give our orthodontists a high level of control over the treatment happening behind that clear appearance.

Who Is a Good Fit for Clarity Aligners?

Clarity Aligners can be an option for a surprisingly wide range of patients. That includes adults and teens, as you might expect, but the system can also be used for younger patients in appropriate cases.

Kids

For kids, age isn’t the only consideration. Dr. Kyle or Dr. John will look at dental development, treatment needs, and whether a child is ready to manage removable aligners responsibly.

Teens

Many teens appreciate those same advantages. There are no brackets or wires to work around while eating, and the trays can fit easily into busy schedules filled with school, sports, music, and activities. The tradeoff is responsibility: removable treatment only works when you actually wear it as prescribed.

Adults

For adults, Clarity Aligners give you balance between effective orthodontic treatment and everyday convenience. You can remove your trays for meals, brushing, flossing, important events, or the occasional photo, while keeping treatment relatively low-profile at work and in social situations.

What Treatment Looks Like at Saddle Creek Orthodontics

Your Clarity Aligners treatment begins with a free consultation at our Germantown or Collierville office. Dr. Kyle or Dr. John will examine your teeth and bite, listen to what you’d like to change, and determine whether Clarity Aligners make sense for you.

Step
01

Scan Your Smile

Instead of relying on old-fashioned impressions, we can capture a detailed digital model of your teeth. This gives us the information we need to study where you are now and start planning where your smile should go.

Step
02

Build Your Plan

This is where the important work happens. Dr. Kyle or Dr. John plans your treatment around your teeth and bite, deciding how your smile should progress and which movements need to happen along the way.

03

Wear Your Clarity Aligners

Once your customized trays are ready, we’ll show you how to wear and care for them. You’ll keep them in for the amount of time we prescribe each day, taking them out to eat, brush, and floss. You’ll also advance to new sets according to the schedule we give you.

Step
04

Monitor Your Progress

You’ll return to Saddle Creek Orthodontics for check-ins so we can make sure your teeth are responding as planned. If your smile needs an adjustment along the way, we can update the plan rather than simply hoping the original roadmap gets us to the finish line.

Clarity Aligners vs. Invisalign

Clarity Aligners and Invisalign have plenty in common. Both use customized, removable trays to straighten your teeth without brackets or wires. Both are discreet, convenient, and designed around a treatment plan created by your orthodontist.

So, what’s the difference?

Different Materials, Same Goal

One of the biggest differences is the material each system uses. Invisalign uses its SmartTrack material, while Solventum Clarity Aligners offer two materials called Flex and Force. Having these options gives Dr. Kyle and Dr. John more flexibility when planning different types of tooth movement.

For you, both systems offer many of the same everyday benefits. You can remove your aligners to eat, brush, and floss, and most people won’t notice you’re wearing them.

Why We Prefer Clarity Aligners

At Saddle Creek Orthodontics, Clarity Aligners are our primary aligner system. We like the flexibility they give us to customize treatment based on your teeth, your bite, and the movements your smile needs.

That doesn’t mean Invisalign is going away. We still offer Invisalign on a more selective basis and may recommend it when it’s a better fit for a particular patient.

Which Aligner Is Right for You?

You don’t need to choose between Clarity Aligners and Invisalign before your consultation. Dr. Kyle or Dr. John will look at your smile, talk with you about your goals, and recommend the option that makes the most sense for your treatment.
